Why is the same book listed several times for my class?

New, used, electronic books and bundled versions of a book will have different ISBNs and they may all be listed as required. If you order more than one of the same material, we will fill the least expensive book/digital material and delete the others from your order.

Can I purchase my textbooks at any campus?

No. Not every campus uses the same book for the same class. Find your book listings from the campus at which your class is held. The section number on your schedule denotes where the materials are houses - 2XX=Online Campus, 3XX=Wildwood, 4XX=Forest Park, 5XX=Florissant Valley, 6XX=Meramec.

When can I sell my textbook back to the campus store?

Be sure to check out the Book Buyback page.

Book Buys are now online through our vendor partner Nebraska Book Company. There is no longer an end of semester in-store book buyback. With online book buyback, you may sell your books whenever you're finished using them provided they have value. You will receive market value for current edition books. If you need help printing a mailing label, the bookstore can print the mailing label for you. Buybacks are issued as a check and sent directly to your address within 3 weeks of receipt and review by Nebraska Book Company.

Only books with current market value can be bought back, if they are in good condition. Normal highlighting and notation is acceptable. Books with broken bindings, loose pages from a bound book or water damage will be refused.

A wholesale book company may purchase books no longer needed by the college, if they have current market value and are in good condition.

The campus stores have no control over publisher new editions or prices.

When can I buy my books with Pell Grants or other Financial Aid?

Financial Aid is generally open to use two weeks before the start of full Fall and Spring semester classes. T177 and T199 Pell book accounts are not available for summer courses. You may charge books and supplies after verification of awards has been posted to your account and the information is sent. to the bookstore.

You may contact the bookstore to verify financial aid accounts have funds available for bookstore purchases. The bookstores are unable to verify funds for tuition or other charges outside of the bookstore.

How do I cancel my order?

Please call or email the bookstore and explain that you need to cancel an online order. You are not charged for an order until it is filled by the bookstore. If the book has been charged and shipped and you need to cancel, you will need to bring the book back for a refund.

How do I find the textbooks I need for my classes?

You will need your schedule from Banner Self Service.

For each class you must look up the Department, Class and Section.

Section numbers denote the campus housing the materials. 2XX=Online Campus, 3XX=Wildwood, 4XX=Forest Park, 5XX=Florissant Valley, 6XX=Meramec

Books and course materials should be purchased online for direct ship to home. Shipping fees are currently waived. In store purchases of books and course materials may be made during the open store hours.

What are "Textbook Bundles"?

Bundles are packages that contain a textbook along with other course material that may assist a student in their studies.

These additional course materials may include study guides and access codes for electronic access to material.

Bundles are typically packaged and stored as a single unit. Opened bundles are not be returnable if the access codes are scratched. All components must be present and intact to return.

What is the average price of a used textbook?

Used textbooks are typically priced at 75% of the retail price of the new book.

How do college stores acquire used books?

College stores use a variety of methods to secure used books for students.

One familiar strategy for obtaining used books is through online book buyback, where books are purchased from students for resale.

College stores also work with textbook wholesale companies to secure additional copies of used books, or books that may not have been available during their campus' buyback.

What forms of payment do you accept?

All campus stores accept cash, VISA, MasterCard, Discover and Student Financial Aid. Personal checks are no longer accepted for payment in the bookstores. Only VISA, Mastercard, Discover and Student Financial Aid accepted for online purchases.

Is it safe to use my credit card or other personal information at the website?

Yes. All your login and billing information is sent via encrypted SSL.

Your campus stores will never sell or distribute any of your account information to third parties.

Why can I not find my class section number?

There are 2 possible reasons:

  • The section is not offered through this campus. Please order all other books through the campus offering the class
  • The section has been added since enrollment started and the addition has not been made in the system.

Why do I need to give you my address if I do not want the books shipped?

We need general information including your address to set up an account.

Currently, the bookstores are only shipping orders direct to home.

If you select "Store Pickup" they will be held in the store for you to pickup.

Please wait 24 hours after placing your order before picking up in the store.

How do I know if my web order has processed?

If you see a confirmation number on the confirmation page or receive a confirmation e-mail, your order has been received and is in queue for processing. You are not charged until the order is processed.

You can log into your account to see if any orders have been placed and the status of those orders.

Why does my book show the cost as zero dollars?

Many times we do not have the price of a book until we receive it in the bookstore.

We will try to update the price as soon as we know it. Please keep checking back for updates.

When is the payment applied to my credit card?

The website does not deduct anything from your account at the time your order is placed.

Your credit card will not be charged until the books are picked and processed.

The total amount on the confirmation receipt may change due to the availability of used books.

Your true bill will be reflected upon fulfillment of your order.

I do not want my books shipped. What do I do?

Currently, we are only offering direct ship to home. If you are unable to place your order due to extenuating circumstances, you may come to the bookstore during store hours or email the store for assistance.

This is found in a drop down menu on the Shipping Information page.

It defaults to "UPS Ground" but one of the options is "Store Pickup".

Choose this option and you can pickup your order at the bookstore.
